Description

The first reports of this discovery date back to May 19, 2023 - https://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=16042 and from the first night of spectroscopic analysis, it was indicated that we are dealing with a Type II supernova.

For me, this is the third photo of a supernova, the second where I simultaneously performed spectrum analysis, and the first time I encounter a Type II. The photo was taken using short exposure technique, with the spectrum collected using an SA 200 filter. The spectrum is of a rather illustrative and commemorative nature, given the resolution and execution conditions (light pollution from other objects, spectrum projection location, and finally, my skills). I was surprised by the relatively good level of detail and signal despite only a few hours of exposure. It only motivates me to capture this object again with two to three times longer total exposure time.

Technical details and data acquisition:
TS 200/1000 ONTC, Uranus-C USB3.0 Color Camera, HEQ5 belt mod, without guiding, Baader Neodymium Moon & Sky Glow filter; spectrum: ASI 294MC + SA 200
4380 x 2.5 sec; stacked in PIPP, aligned in Registax, processed in PixInsight / Photoshop; spectrum: 20 x 10 sec.
